The auto_vacuum mode of a database, controlling whether and when SQLite
reclaims freed pages back to the file.
The mode is stored in the database file, not the connection. Full and
Incremental can be switched between at any time, but changing from or to
None only takes effect on a database with no tables yet, or after a
subsequent VACUUM rewrites the file.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
None = 0
Freed pages stay on the freelist and the file never shrinks (default).
Full = 1
Freed pages are reclaimed and the file truncated at every commit.
Incremental = 2
Freelist bookkeeping is kept, pages are reclaimed only when
incremental_vacuum runs.
